Thermocouple & RTD Sensors

MgO Insulated Thermocouple Assemblies

  • An MgO thermocouple assembly consists of a thermocouple element swaged in hard-packed standard purity (96%) Magnesium Oxide mineral insulation and encased in a metal sheath. Thermocouple sheaths have been fully annealed; they can be forced into many configurators and can be bent into a radius of twice the size of the outer sheath
  • Thermocouple types - E, J, K, T, N (Single or Duplex Elements)
  • Sheath Diameters - 1/16", 1/8", 3/16", 1/4", 3/8" OD, .020", .032", .040" OD
  • Sheath Materials - Inconel, 304, 310, 316, 446 Stainless Steel (Teflon coating available)
  • Measuring Junction Styles: Grounded, ungrounded, exposed
  • Limits of Error: Standard or special limits
  • MgO Insulation: Standard or high purity MgO
  • Sheath Lengths: Customer specified, spring loaded or fixed length
  • Sheath Terminations: Standard and miniature thermocouple plugs and jacks; Aluminum, cast iron, nickel, plated steel, thermoplastic or explosion proof heads; Extension leadwire with glass, PVC or Teflon insulation and with a variety of leadwire terminations
  • Mounting Attachments: Compression fitting, welded bushing, adjustable flange, weld, pad, bayonet cap and spring
  • Custom built specials are available upon request

RTD Assemblies

  • RTD Element Materials and Values: Platinum (100, 200, 500, 1000 OHM); Copper (10 OHM); Nickel (120 OHM); Nickel-Iron (604 OHM)
  • RTDs are designed to measure temperature in a variety of process and laboratory applications. These RTDs are specifically designed for use in two different process temperature ranges and they will provide accurate and repeatable temperature measurement through a broad range of -328 to 1112°F (-200 to 600°C)
  • Low range RTDs -328 to 400°F (-200 to 204°C) are constructed using silver plated copper internal leads, Teflon, and other suitable wire insulations with potting compounds to resist moisture penetration
  • High range RTDs -328 to 1112°F (-200-600°C) are constructed with nickel internal leads inside swaged MgO insulated cable to allow higher temperature measurements at the RTD element and to provide higher temperature lead protection along the sheath
  • Custom built assemblies with non-standard specifications are available upon request
  • Construction Styles: 2, 3 or 4 wire; single or duplex elements
  • RTD Platinum Element Coefficients: .00385, .00391, .00427, .00672, .00518
  • RTD Temperature Sensor Ranges: Low Range = -328 to 400°F; High Range = -328 to 1112°F
  • RTD Platinum Element Accuracies: ±.1%, ±.03%, ±.01%
  • Sheath Diameters: 1/8", 3/16", 1/4", 3/8" OD
  • Sheath Materials: 316 Stainless steel is standard (Teflon coating available)
  • Sheath Lengths: Customer specified, spring loaded or fixed lengths
  • Sheath Terminations: Standard and miniature thermocouple plugs and Aluminum, cast iron, nickel, plated steel, thermoplastic or explosion proof heads; Extension leadwire with fiberglass, PVC or Teflon insulation and with a variety of leadwire terminations
  • RTD Transmitter: Optional two-wire loop powered 4 to 20 mADC linearized RTD transmitter, .1% accuracy, non-isolated, mounts in head assembly or separately, many ranges available fro -100 to +1000°F, Fahrenheit or Celsius ranges, accepts 2 or 3 wire RTD's, upscale or downscale burnout
  • Mounting Attachments: Compression fitting, welded bushing, adjustable flange, fixed or adjustable bayonet fitting

  • Mounting Accessories: Drilled or flanged thermowells
