Model 3216 Temperature/Process Controller---

The operator interface is fully configurable enabling any parameter to be promoted for immediate operator access on level 1 or password protected level 2. This provides for the simplest solutions right through to sophisticated applications.

The new three color LCD display provides clear indication of process variables. The upper display shows the process measured value while the lower display can be set to display a range of parameters including, setpoint, time remaining and current.

The new 3216 1/16th DIN controller provides a new level of user convenience. The scrolling text messages deliver plain language messages to let operators and engineers alike know exactly what is happening to the process.

The Quick Start Wizard makes configuration simpler than ever. At initial power up the configuration is displayed on the lower display with clear descriptive text providing scrolling help for each setting.

Universal inputs enable the simple selection of any standard thermocouple, 2 or 3 wire Resistance Thermometer or process input. A custom linearisation can be installed using the simple PC tool, iTools.

The Load Current Transformer Input, CT input, provides the ideal method to monitor load current and provide immediate indication of load conditions. Partial load failure, heater open circuit or thyristor short circuit can each be indicated by clear scrolling operator messages and relay output.

The communications option provides full system integration through the industry standard modbus protocol.

Three outputs can be configured to provide any combination of heating, cooling and alarm.

The DIN rail mounted IO Expander can add a further 20 inputs and 20 outputs to the 3504 and 3508 controllers. All inputs and outputs are fully insulated.

The comprehensive communications options, Modbus serial, Modbus TCP/IP, DeviceNet and Profibus provide excellent opportunities for local, plantwide and worldwide system integration.

The standard Real Time Clock ensures that regular or routine actions can be triggered at a particular time or day.

The new motorized valve positioning algorithm provides not only single valve positioning (VP), heat or cool outputs but dual valve position control for individual heat AND cool valve control.  The controller can work with or without valve position feedback by using the appropriate  control algorithm and can be configured to continue to function even if valve position feedback fails.  The horizontal bargraph indicator graphically shows the valve position.

The 3508 is the very latest 1/8 DIN temperature and process controllers from Eurotherm.  It combines Eurotherm’s recognized expertise in measurement and control with a comprehensive and clear user interface using the latest LCD technology.

The 3508 features a 4 line alpha-numeric message center to indicate process parameters and operator information, programmable messages and horizontal bar graphs.

The new iTools Graphical Wiring Editor makes even the most ambitious configurations simple to implement.  New printing features make the production of documentation, required for process validation, easier than ever to produce.

Customization of parameter names and lists is now provided.  Parameters can be allocated to one of three security levels to control user access.  Any parameter can be promoted to an operator screen to ensure that vital information is always in view.

The setpoint programmer offers 200 individual program segments that can be allocated to any of the 50 programs.

The new Ethernet module provides modbus TCP/IP access to all important internal values and configuration parameters. A high speed block read for the most commonly used values minimises network traffic and speeds up response. Any number of controllers can be monitored locally, or remotely over the internet.

An infrared port is provided on each front panel. This enables connection of the iTools configuration, monitoring and logging software without disturbing the operation of the controller.

Alarms can be logically combined to provide custom solutions from the simplest to the more demanding applications. Alarms can be configured as latching, nonlatching or blocking. Custom messages can be displayed to provide operators with clear process specific information.
